REEMAN AMR Navigates Narrow Aisles and a 1.2-Meter-Wide Elevator
A forward-entry, reverse-exit approach supports material transport in a factory with limited maneuvering space.
Automating material transport in an existing factory means working within the space available. Narrow aisles, closely positioned material racks and small elevators can make robot deployment particularly challenging.
In this factory application, a REEMAN autonomous mobile robot transports materials through confined passages and uses an elevator measuring just 1.2 meters wide. The case demonstrates how a movement strategy tailored to the site can support automation in restricted spaces.

Navigating Between Material Racks
The factory's transport routes run alongside material racks and production equipment, leaving limited room for maneuvering. The robot carries a material rack along the designated route, making the dimensions of the complete loaded setup an important part of route planning.
For applications like this, successful deployment depends on matching the robot, its load and its travel path to the actual working environment.
Forward Entry, Reverse Exit
The elevator is a key constraint in this project. With only 1.2 meters of width available, turning inside would require additional clearance and introduce unnecessary positioning adjustments.
The solution uses a straightforward sequence: the robot enters the elevator facing forward and reverses out upon arrival. This removes the need to turn inside the cabin and helps reduce positioning deviations associated with additional maneuvering.
By maintaining a consistent orientation during entry and exit, the robot can follow a more controlled path through the confined elevator space.
A Practical Approach to Cross-Floor Transport
Combining narrow-aisle navigation with an elevator-specific movement strategy allows the robot to support material transfer between floors within the existing factory layout.
This application highlights the importance of site-specific planning. Elevator dimensions, doorway clearance, load overhang and approach space all need to be considered together when designing an automated transport route.

For manufacturers exploring automation in space-constrained facilities, REEMAN can assess site videos, passage dimensions and elevator layouts to develop a suitable material transport solution.
