Continuous SMT Patch Without Line Stop, Logistics Must Be Online: Reeman AMR Builds Stable Supply Rhythm For Large SMT Factories

Jan 15, 2026

In SMT patch production, the true factor determining the stability of the production line is not just the speed of the pick-and-place machine, but whether materials can be continuously delivered in sync with the production rhythm. Multiple lines running in parallel, high-frequency material changes, and dense workstations mean that even a slight delay in logistics response can directly lead to the entire line halting and waiting, resulting in reduced equipment utilization.

A large SMT patch factory, with the growth of orders and the addition of multiple high-speed patch lines, gradually encountered bottlenecks in the original manual replenishment and cart-based delivery model: frequent route intersections, difficulty in personnel scheduling, and uncontrollable replenishment response times became key factors affecting capacity release. To solve this issue, the factory introduced Reeman Big Dog AMR (Automated Mobile Robot) to build a more stable internal logistics system.

The Reeman Big Dog AMR has a stable load capacity of 100kg and can flexibly interface with material carts, material boxes, and turnover frames to achieve point-to-point automatic material delivery between the warehouse and production line workstations. Based on laser radar fusion navigation technology, the robot does not require the installation of magnetic strips or QR codes, and can autonomously locate and dynamically avoid obstacles in complex workshop environments, ensuring stable operation even in high-traffic areas.

With the support of the scheduling system, multiple AMRs can automatically take orders and execute tasks based on real-time demand from the patch lines. The production line can trigger the replenishment process with a single click, avoiding frequent running around by workers and waiting in line, significantly improving replenishment efficiency and accuracy.

For multi-story factory structures, the Reeman AMR can interface with the elevator system to enable automatic transportation between floors, and can coordinate with electric doors for automatic opening and closing. The entire process requires no manual intervention, truly realizing a continuous logistics channel between the warehouse and the production line.

After the project went live, the average replenishment response time in the SMT factory was significantly reduced, and the occurrence of production line downtime waiting was greatly minimized. Even during peak production cycles, the factory maintained a stable rhythm, providing reliable support for the company's continued capacity expansion.

As the source manufacturer of AMR robots, Reeman has complete research and development, production, and system delivery capabilities. With annual shipments in the thousands, its products are sold to Europe, Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and other regions. The company has many mature cases in industries such as electronics manufacturing, automotive parts, and medical equipment, with stability and consistency verified over the long term.
