How REEMAN Titan Mini Autonomous Forklift Moves a 275 kg Tank Trolley with Custom Forks
At a high-end electronic materials manufacturing plant in Anhui, China, REEMAN adapted the Titan Mini Autonomous Forklift to the customer's existing wheeled material-tank trolley instead of asking the factory to replace the carrier. A custom fork solution engages the trolley's steel base directly, so no additional standard pallet is required. The actual transported load is approximately 275 kg, the one-way route is about 260 meters, and the complete operating cycle is approximately 4.5 minutes under the documented site configuration. Titan Mini uses Laser navigation and 3D vision, supports adjustable travel speed, can stop when a person or obstacle enters the configured safety zone, and automatically returns to charging after the task.
Case Overview
The customer already used a wheeled mobile material-tank trolley as part of the production process. Its steel bottom structure did not match a standard pallet geometry, so changing the carrier would have added unnecessary site changes. REEMAN instead customized the forklift-to-load interface.

The Challenge: The Existing Carrier Was Not a Standard Pallet
The engineering question was not whether an autonomous forklift could move a standard pallet. It was whether the robot could directly handle the trolley the customer already used. The trolley had its own steel base and wheels, and the project needed to preserve that carrier rather than redesign the production process around a new pallet standard.

1. Custom Fork Arms Built Around the Existing Steel Base
REEMAN designed the fork arms around the steel pickup structure already present on the trolley. This allows Titan Mini to enter the available pickup position, lift the complete trolley, and support it through the transport route. No additional wooden or plastic pallet is required.
Engineering principle: If an existing carrier is already stable and integrated into production, adapting the forklift-to-load interface can be more practical than changing the carrier standard across the factory.

2. Direct Pickup Without an Additional Pallet
Titan Mini autonomously approaches the pickup point, fine-tunes its pose and aligns the custom forks with the trolley's steel base. Once aligned, the forks enter underneath the carrier and lift the complete load. The actual trolley-plus-material weight in this application is approximately 275 kg, while Titan Mini is rated for up to 2,000 kg.
3. Approximately 260 m of Real Factory Transport
After pickup, Titan Mini completes an approximately 260 m one-way transport route through the customer's actual production environment. The route is long enough to represent real internal logistics rather than a short camera demonstration. Travel speed can be adjusted according to site traffic and safety requirements.
4. Laser Navigation, 3D Vision and Safety Response
Titan Mini uses Laser navigation together with 3D vision to perceive the surrounding environment during transport. If a person or obstacle enters the configured safety zone, the forklift can stop automatically. The purpose is not maximum speed; it is repeatable transport under the factory's real operating conditions.
5. Precise Placement and Fork Withdrawal
At the destination, Titan Mini repositions, lowers the trolley smoothly into the designated location and withdraws the customized fork arms from the steel base. The existing trolley remains unchanged throughout the workflow.
6. Automatic Return to Charging
After the delivery is complete, Titan Mini automatically returns to its designated charging point. Under the documented site configuration, the full operating cycle takes approximately 4.5 minutes. The case video is shown at about 4× speed.
Why This Case Matters for Other Non-Standard Carriers
Many factories already use mobile tank trolleys, custom carts, metal racks, wire-mesh cages or production-specific carriers. Autonomous material handling does not always require replacing those assets. When the carrier structure and safety conditions permit, a custom fork interface can allow the robot to work with the customer's existing logistics equipment.
- Preserve the existing carrier when practical.
- Design the fork geometry around the actual pickup structure.
- Validate real load, load center and support conditions.
- Confirm route width, floor condition and traffic environment.
- Configure travel speed and safety response for the site.
- Close the task loop with precise placement and charging logic.
FAQ
Q1: Why were custom forks required?
A: The existing mobile tank trolley has its own steel base and is not a standard pallet. REEMAN customized the fork geometry around the existing pickup structure.
Q2: Does the customer need to replace the trolley?
A: No. The original wheeled trolley remains in use.
Q3: Is an additional standard pallet required?
A: No. The custom forks engage the existing steel base directly.
Q4: What is the actual transported load?
A: Approximately 275 kg including the trolley and material.
Q5: What is the rated payload of Titan Mini?
A: Up to 2,000 kg for the configuration used in this case.
Q6: How far does Titan Mini travel?
A: The one-way point-to-point route is approximately 260 m.
Q7: How long does the complete operating cycle take?
A: Approximately 4.5 minutes under the documented site configuration.
Q8: Can travel speed be adjusted?
A: Yes. Travel speed can be configured according to the route, traffic and safety requirements.
Q9: What happens when a person or obstacle enters the safety zone?
A: Titan Mini can stop automatically when a person or obstacle enters the configured safety zone.
Q10: Does the forklift return to charging automatically?
A: Yes. After the task is completed, Titan Mini automatically returns to the designated charging point.
Q11: Can the same approach be used for other non-standard carriers?
A: Potentially. The carrier structure, pickup geometry, load, stability, route and safety conditions should be evaluated before a custom fork solution is designed.
